I’m Alain Thomasset, a composer and musician passionate about crafting evocative, immersive music for video games. My heart belongs to the fantasy genre — I grew up captivated by the works of Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy), Jeremy Soule (Morrowind, The Elder Scrolls), and the timeless Warcraft universe. I was equally inspired by the cinematic magic of Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings) and John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon). Their music shaped my imagination, and today I strive to create soundtracks that capture that same sense of profound meaning and emotional depth.
To me, music is a form of worldbuilding — every theme, texture, and rhythm is a fragment of a story yet untold. In fantasy, this means not only shaping themes and leitmotifs that capture the essence of a protagonist, region, or event, but also drawing inspiration from diverse cultures to craft unique musical identities for each world. I love exploring contrasts — light and shadow, beauty and decay, silence and impact. The joy of composition lies in finding the perfect blend of style and genre to serve a story’s specific narrative needs. Whether through haunting choirs, fragile strings, or majestic horn lines, I strive to give every project a living, breathing sonic identity.
